- Year 1
- Fall semester
- Anatomy I
- Ear anatomy
- Duration: 10:38
The eighth cranial nerve carries hearing and balance information from the inner ear to the brainstem. In this lesson we cover its cochlear and vestibular branches, the spiral and Scarpa's ganglia, type I and type II neurons, efferent fibers, and its position in the internal auditory canal next to the facial nerve. We also link it to the ABR and look at clinical examples.
